Carbon Collectors has the ambition to become the worlds first company to pick up CO2 by ship directly from emitters and store it permanently in offshore storage locations.
Elsewhere in the world, CO2 is already being transported and stored underground through pipelines. “We think that transport by ship is ultimately cheaper”, says Ludo van Hijfte. “But perhaps even more importantly, a network of ships is much more flexible. Unlike a pipeline, ships are not tied to fixed places for loading and storage.”
